Merge Excel Sheets

Infoveave Data Automation — File Reading

Many Excel files in. One merged workbook out. Every time the workflow runs.

Teams across every industry produce separate Excel files — department sales logs, regional performance reports, supplier order confirmations. Consolidating them manually means opening each file, copying rows, and maintaining a master spreadsheet that goes stale the moment you close it. Merge Excel Sheets automates this consolidation, producing a unified output file on every workflow execution that is always current.

What Merge Excel Sheets does

Consolidate multiple Excel (.xlsx) files into a single merged workbook inside your Infoveave workflow. Automate monthly, departmental, or vendor report consolidation without copy-pasting between spreadsheets.

When to use Merge Excel Sheets

  • Multiple teams or systems produce separate Excel files with the same structure that need to be combined for consolidated reporting
  • You receive daily or weekly Excel exports from different sources and need to create a unified master file
  • You want to pass a single merged Excel file to a downstream step — email, upload, or database write
  • You are building an ETL pipeline that collects Excel reports from multiple departments before transforming them

When to avoid it

  • You need to merge tabular data into a table for further transformation — use Simplified Data Merge instead
  • Your source files are CSV format — use Read CSV Files to ingest them, then merge using Simplified Data Merge
  • You need to read data from multiple sheets within a single workbook — use multiple Read Excel Files steps

How teams use Merge Excel Sheets

Real scenarios where this transformation saves hours of manual work.

Retail

Daily Store Sales Consolidation

A retail chain has each store upload its daily sales Excel file. Merge Excel Sheets combines all store files matching sales_*.xlsx into a single merged_data.xlsx each morning — feeding the consolidated sales dashboard without any analyst involvement.

Manufacturing

Production Shift Report Merging

Each production shift generates an Excel report of outputs, defects, and downtime. Three shift files per day are merged automatically into one daily production summary that feeds the OEE calculation pipeline.

Finance

Regional Budget Consolidation

Finance teams in each region submit quarterly budget actuals as Excel files. Merge Excel Sheets combines all regional files automatically at quarter-end, creating the unified workbook that feeds the board-level financial reporting workflow.
