Infoveave Data Automation — Document Parsing
Barcode or QR code image in. Decoded value out. No scanner hardware required.
Barcodes and QR codes encode critical operational data — product SKUs, shipment IDs, asset tags, service history pointers, and document tracking codes. QR codes in particular carry richer payloads: a single scan can surface a URL, a structured data record, or a product lifecycle identifier that connects to live systems. Automating the decoding of both barcode and QR code images eliminates manual scanning steps, reduces errors, and enables high-volume batch processing of images and documents arriving from cameras, conveyor scanners, field photos, or document uploads. Read Barcode integrates directly into Infoveave workflows so that every scan image is decoded and its value routed into the next pipeline step — no Python scripts, no custom integrations, no hardware dependency beyond the image itself.
Automatically decode QR codes, Data Matrix, Code128, EAN, UPC, and other barcodes from image files and PDF documents inside your Infoveave workflow. Extract barcode values at scale for inventory, logistics, asset tracking, and retail pipelines.

Photos of received shipment labels taken by warehouse cameras are uploaded to the workflow. Read Barcode decodes the tracking barcode on each label, matching decoded values against the expected shipment manifest to confirm correct delivery — triggering an alert for any mismatches.
As products move through production, dispatch, and after-sales, field teams capture photos of product-level QR codes using mobile devices or fixed cameras. Read Barcode decodes the QR value from each image — typically a product identifier or URL — which is then used to look up the live product record in the connected data platform, log the scan event with timestamp and location, and trigger downstream workflow steps such as service record updates, warranty lookups, or inventory adjustments.
Supplier product images uploaded for catalog management include EAN barcodes. Read Barcode extracts the EAN value from each product image, which is then matched to the product master to verify SKU alignment before the catalog update is committed.
Scanned patient wristband images from the admissions system are processed by Read Barcode to extract the patient QR code. The decoded patient ID is validated against the EMR and the correct admission record is linked automatically.

Barcode Type
Select the expected barcode format: QR Code, Data Matrix, Code128, EAN, UPC, or Auto Detect. Use Auto Detect when processing mixed batches with multiple barcode types — the activity will attempt to identify and decode any barcode present. For large homogeneous batches, specify the exact type for faster processing. For manufacturing workflows using dynamic QR codes on products or cartons, select QR Code explicitly to optimise decode speed and reliability.
